Mission Statement

To accelerate the transition to a sustainable textile and fashion industry by transforming the synthetic and man-made fibre value chain through cross-sector collaboration, circular innovation, improved standards for biodegradability and composability, and the elimination of persistent microplastics.

Vision Statement

To become the world’s leading platform for collaborative innovation in sustainable synthetics—uniting researchers, governments, brands, and manufacturers to eliminate microplastic pollution, elevate certification standards, enable scalable recycling, and embed material innovation across the global textile ecosystem.

Intimiti Sustainability Academy

The Intimiti Sustainability Academy is an industry education and collaboration platform designed to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable textile and fashion industry, starting with the transformation of the synthetic and man-made fibre (MMF) value chain.Hosted by Intimiti and anchored by Celys™, the world’s first certified compostable polyester fiber, the Academy brings together partners from across the textile ecosystem—including manufacturers, brands, researchers, governments, and closed-loop providers—to collaborate, learn, and co-develop solutions that eliminate persistent microplastics, improve composability and recycling standards, and integrate sustainable material innovation throughout the value chain.Through workshops, pilot projects, knowledge-sharing, and joint marketing initiatives, the Academy empowers members to future-proof their operations, shape circularity standards, and play an active role in building a more responsible, traceable, and regenerative textile economy.

Who We’re Inviting

Industry Value Propositions

Yarn, Material, and Garment Manufacturers

“Unlock new demand by building certified, future-ready materials with direct access to innovation, co-development, and brand-driven market pull.”

Through the Academy, manufacturers gain access to cutting-edge fibre innovations, collaborative development opportunities, and the technical support needed to integrate compostable and circular synthetics into their operations. By participating, they position themselves as preferred supply partners in a rapidly evolving market.

Distributors and Wholesalers

“Be at the forefront of the shift to sustainable synthetics—by offering verified, high-demand materials backed by global certification, traceability, and brand alignment.”

Distributors benefit from early access to certified Celys-based materials, marketing visibility, and ecosystem credibility. The Academy helps position their inventory for the next generation of environmentally conscious brands and buyers, while supporting traceability and product storytelling.

Brands

“Lead the market with next-generation products powered by certified, circular synthetics—co-developed in a transparent, innovation-led ecosystem.”

Brands gain early access to fibre innovation, enhanced ESG performance, and a direct role in shaping material development. Participation signals a deep commitment to eliminating microplastics, advancing biodegradable standards, and future-proofing product lines in anticipation of regulatory and consumer shifts.

Closed Loop Vendors (Collectors, Waste Processors, Recyclers)

“Shape the future of end-of-life for synthetics by collaborating on scalable solutions for recovery, sorting, composting, and recycling within a certified ecosystem.”

The Academy enables closed-loop vendors to work directly with fibre innovators, manufacturers, and brands to create viable recovery pathways for new-generation synthetics. This is an opportunity to pilot infrastructure, influence design for recovery, and become critical enablers in a circular economy.
